Been playing lots of GTA Chinatown Wars (which is a pretty good game) and the thing that stands out the most is how ridiculously awesome the screens are

playing WarioWare Snapped made me realize how easy it would be for Konami to port the pretty good 3-D Metal Gear cell phone game since it uses cameras on phones

Wario Ware went downhill when they started making games that required you to calibrate or do other things that made it take a ridiculous amount of time in between games and telling you how to play them as not knowing what was coming next was part of what made the GBA and DS games so amazing and addicting, not to mention challenging.

I bet Konami could make a downloadable Metal Gear game, but they probably won't unless that's Kojima's teased next Metal Gear Project.

If any indication shows (and considering the fact he's an Apple user) the next Metal Gear will be on iPhone or PS3. It's stupid really, they can put MGS2 on PC, but didn't bother with MGS3 and I highly doubt they'd bother with MGS4. If anything he's waiting for Macs to actually have a good price-power ratio so he can actually release it on Mac.

Then again, if PC gaming is so called "dead", then Mac gaming was extinct long ago.

first off, PC gaming isn't dead. that's a myth. it's just not as grand as it once was. if it truly was dead them Steam wouldn't have so many users. people act like the older games stop existing suddenly all the time.

secondly, the last MGS game was on the iPhone. they have no reason to put another one on the iPhone so soon after the launch of this one. it simply makes no sense. PS3? possibly, but I don't see why they would just release such a popular series on just two consoles (if the iPhone can even be considered a console.). sure, they can push the PS3 to it's fullest if they do that, but releasing the games on several consoles would not only stimulate fans, but it would most likely pay off.

oh right, the DSi. it's a console that consoles and stuff. I wanna see what DSiWare can come up with. it should be so cheap to make such games and it'll be interesting to see what we'll get.

I just finished my ten day trial of WOW...uh...
and with On-live coming out soon, who knows what defines PC/Mac gaming.

anyhoo about the DSi metal gear,
explain what the phone deal is. i have know idea, but it sounds interesting.

back in march 08 konami released a Metal Gear mobile game that played and look pretty comparable to MGS1. it used the camera on your cell phone for stuff like first person aiming and getting color samples for camouflage.

i think it could work for dsiware or be expanded into a full ds game with dsi exclusive features

That should be defined as Cloud gaming, because what it is is Cloud computing.

I would say maybe they could allow you to use a DSi for OnLive, but the DSi only has 16MB of RAM, not even enough to watch Youtube videos.

so Capcom's releasing a premium edition DSi in Japan on May 28th that looks like this:



they're selling it with the new Gyakutenkenji game (the next game in the Phoenix Wright series that has an english name I keep forgetting) and it will cost 23940 yen.

this is enough for me to buy a DSi, and I've never before wanted a console with a theme on it. it has the Blue fucking Badger on it!

You mean Apollo Justice? Or was that just a one-shot spin-off?

Enlighten me, what is the Blue Badger? You've had a screen name on Skype called blue badger and I always wondered why.

Gyakutenkenji is the spin-off featuring Miles Edgeworth. Apollo Justice is the official continuation of the series.

if you don't know who or what the Blue Badger is then go play the first Phoenix Wright game right now.

it seems that for everything right that Ninty does with the DSi they make something else wrong which is what's keeping me away from it currently. example: this week Dr Mario, one of the best puzzle games ever, is coming to DSiWare for only 500 points. when I read that on Destructoid, my first thought was "that's it, I'm buying a DSi," but unfortunately it didn't end there. I then read that there was no multiplayer, the feature that totally makes Dr Mario. what the fuck is up with that?

The DS screens were never Multitouch so it would probably never work to begin with. Wireless would just be a confusing mess and don't get me started on WiFi.

two words: Tetris DS. it worked flawlessly both WiFi and locally. while that is a full game, offline multiplayer is completely doable on DSiWare and there is no explanation for Nintendo on their own goddamn service to release a game that they've released on WiiWare and know themselves that they can add multiplayer and that people love it.

there is no goddamn excuse and Dr Mario is, frankly, not that good at all if you only play by yourself.

God, Ninty, be at least be a little consistent. you've just released a new service, you should prove what games can be ported to the service to show off. it would be such a brilliant start.

Dr Mario Online Rx didn't have 4 player VS. besides f you want those features so bad get the WiiWare version. Not everyone has someone to play with...

it's obvious that you've never played Dr Mario before. when has Dr Mario ever had 4 player multiplayer that isn't coop? it's one on one that's really only necessary, four players is kinda pushing it. and puzzle games are practically made to be played on the go and just being able to play it when I'm home in this day and age is a joke. just because some people don't have anyone to play with does not mean that they should remove the feature completely. the DSi became the 4th best selling console (in the UK at least) after the first two days. Nintendo knows that many people own a DSi, so stop defending them with your bs arguments and return when you have an idea what you're talking about, thank you.
