Exactly why scores need to fuck right off. To you a 6 is Above Average and alright. To me a 6 is a bad score.
if 6 is a bad score, then what the hell is 1 through 5? different magnitudes of just "bad?" that makes absolutely no sense. people who think that anything below 7 or 8 is "bad" use a completely wrong system that makes absolutely no sense whatsoever.

Also, reviews never truely represent whether or not a game is a niche game, whether or not certain people will like it as they would have to READ/WATCH the review to find out.
the scores are there for people who don't have time to read/watch a long review. if you want details, read the review. anyone who knows what they're doing will tell you if the game is niche or not. if they don't, the review is bad or the person writing the review really, really likes or hates the review.

And on the side of opinions, Twilight Princess is NOT a 4ish game. It's an 8-9. Like Stan has already said, review a game on its own merits. Directly comparing it to another game only causes questions in the validity of the review.
playing through Twilight Princess was a chore. waggling to fight only got my arm tired, the game was far, far,
far to easy, the characters were mostly uninteresting, the boss battles were wasted potential because of difficulty/obviousness/lack of diversity (in the second temple you acquire a bow. the boss has a giant glowing crystal that is completely impossible to ignore in his forehead. it's easier to put together than a two piece puzzle.) and the entire game was pretty much built on recycled ideas from Ocarina of Time. (a game recycling ideas to this degree is downright criminal, much like how Animal Crossing Wii recycles almost all the graphics and furniture from the Gamecube and DS versions. an almost complete lack of originality is a complaint.) in fact, the only major idea (besides the plot) that I can remember TP having that's not in OoT is Wolf Link which wasn't very fun to play as.
